Frome Affordable Acupuncture

There is now a very strong body of evidence showing the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture for a wide range of conditions. The World Health Organisation has recommended that traditional medicine be integrated into its’ member countries national healthcare systems and in the UK NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Evidence) have recommended acupuncture be offered on the NHS for several common conditions. However we are a long way from integration into Primary Health Care and most people will still need to pay privately for traditional acupuncture. Sadly, this means that many people cannot afford to continue with treatment for as long as they need.

As a result many acupuncturists have been looking at ways to make treatment more affordable and to bring the benefits of acupuncture to a wider range of people. Acupuncturists have high costs and these are reflected in the price the patient pays. However by operating the Clinic in a more open-plan way, it is possible to reduce the cost. In this shared clinic the first consultation is conducted in private, then at the follow-up sessions some of your time will overlap with another patient. The atmosphere is calm and healing and many people really enjoy the community feeling of this clinic which has been going strong since September 2009.
